Zagreb, your home away from home
Zagreb is the capital city of the Republic of Croatia. An alluring city with a tumultuous past, that has for three years in a row been awarded the Best Christmas Market in Europe! With a population of approximately one million, you can be sure that you'll have that many options when you arrive!
The city's main square (Trg Bana Josipa Jelačića) can be found in the heart of the city. Orient yourself to the rest of the city by heading here first. Bask in the atmosphere and enjoy the local cafés.
The Zagreb Cathedral is located a stone's throw away from the main square and is one of the most notable neo-Gothic structures southeast of the Alps.
Most commonly known as the main street in Zagreb, Ilica is one of the oldest and longest streets in Zagreb. Running from Trg Bana Jelačića to the west of the city, it's associated with the best shopping. Take a stroll down Ilica or jump on the funicular to the Upper Town
The Upper Town is home to the Government of Croatia, it's Parliament and the Constitutional Court. St Mark's Church is as notable as Zagreb itself. Emblazoned on It's roof are tiles laid out with the coat of arms of the City of Zagreb and Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia.
